It was at Martha Manson Academy that Jamie met two of her bridesmaids Zabel Thurdekoos and Carrie Boyles.  Jamie began swimming year round at age 7 but also played tennis, participated in gymnastics and diving and took piano and violin lessons. Jamie swam competitively through both her high school and college years.  She was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Southern California and attended school there for her first three years of college, where, as a freshman, the USC women's swim team won the NCAA Swimming Championship. After spending three years in south central LA, she came back to Florida and finished a Bachelors in Business Administration degree and swam for the University of Florida Gators.  During this time she met her maid of honor Sharon Rzadkowolski-Raoli, who swam with her at UF in the distance lane.  After graduation, Jamie returned to the University of Florida for a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.  Jamie has now been working as a nurse for over 4 years, and currently works at Tampa General Hospital.
